Data from the ongoing study of 10,000 Australian mobile phone owners shows that, as of the beginning of July, Android commanded 38% of smartphone market share compared to iOS’ 37%.

FMCG growth slows in China

Discounters up again as premium own-label slows

Aldi and Lidl continued to make gains in the past three months, new figures from Kantar Worldpanel reveal.
The discounter duo each claimed a record 2.9% share of the UK grocery market in the 12 weeks to 8 July – having grown sales by 26% and 11.5% respectively, compared to the equivalent period last year.
The market as a whole grew by 2.1% over the period, just half of the 4.2% growth seen this time last year. Inflation is now at 3.8%, according to Kantar. -

The latest data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech shows that for the first time Google Android has taken at least half of smartphone sales across Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, US and Australia. Its share is based on new smartphone users increasingly opting for Android, whose range extends to top models such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, which rivals the iPhone, to inexpensive models that are now cheaper than some feature phones.

According to Kantar Worldpanel, Carrefour's French market share dropped by 1.4 percentage points to 20.9% in the first six months of 2012 compared with a year earlier.
